Ascent

This piece is from a project I am currently working on called "The Cove." It is a mystical place of birds and fish, predators and prey, dark and light. A flock of cormorants frequent the cove which is also defined by a field of stumps that emerge from the surface of the lake. One cool, foggy morning I captured this image of two cormorants perched on the stumps, soaking up the sun's early morning rays to dry off. The scene was majestic as the cormorant on the left seemingly spread its wings as it nodded to the rising fog in the center of the image. This will ultimately be a series of images from this place which I'm excited to release but for now this is a sneak peak. The print will be a 16x24 on archival matte fine art paper, ready for framing.
